The Full Stack WordPress Developer is responsible for developing & maintaining high-quality, high-performance web applications primarily in WordPress & PHP frameworks. The role requires 75% backend/server expertise and 25% frontend capability.

We are seeking a highly skilled Full Stack WordPress Developer and WordPress Specialist with a proven track record of building robust, high-performance WordPress solutions from scratch. This is a senior, hands-on role for developers who think in systems, write clean architecture, and care deeply about performance, maintainability, and code quality.

This position supports international digital agency clients under a white-label model, demanding technical depth, strong communication, disciplined remote work practices, and delivery accountability.

Key Responsibilities

Backend & Server-Side Development (75%)

• Architect, develop, and maintain custom WordPress themes and plugins

• Implement clean, scalable PHP using OOP and MVC principles.

• Design and optimize database schemas and queries.

• Configure and maintain Cloudways hosting environments.

• Handle DNS management, SMTP, SSL, and SSH commands.

• Build and integrate REST APIs.

• Ensure security hardening and follow OOP & MVC principles.

• Optimize site performance for Core Web Vitals, caching, and database efficiency.

• Debug and resolve errors using WP_DEBUG, Query Monitor, and logs.

• Manage version compatibility across PHP/WP/plugin ecosystems.

• Deliver consistently high performance and strong Lighthouse scores

Frontend Development (25%)

• Implement high-fidelity designs into precise, responsive, cross-browser, and SEO-friendly front-end implementations.

• Use page builders (Elementor, Divi, Visual Composer) for layout execution.

• Collaborate with designers and PMs to ensure design accuracy and performance.

• Optimize assets, JS, and CSS for speed and user experience.

Must Haves

Technical

• Minimum of 3-5 years of professional experience developing custom WordPress themes and plugins

• Expert-level proficiency in:

• PHP, MVC architecture, and OOP design

• WordPress core APIs, classes, hooks, and REST API

• SQL, database design, and performance optimization

• ACF and ACF Blocks

• JavaScript (vanilla, jQuery, AJAX)

• SCSS and modern CSS frameworks (Tailwind, Bootstrap)

• Node.js, npm, Gulp, and Composer

• WooCommerce

• Proven experience with third-party API integrations (XML, JSON)

• Demonstrated ability to deliver fast, optimized, production-ready sites

• Exceptional attention to code quality, structure, and documentation

Soft Skills

• Fluent English communication skills

• Experience working on shared codebases with multiple developers

• Ability to lead, mentor, and set technical standards

• Highly organized, accountable, and self-directed

• Proactive communicator who takes ownership of outcomes

Nice to Have

• Strong eye for design and layout
